It sounds budget - but I just stick on a piece of Scotch tape and write the date on there. Yes, you can use the storage containers as bottles. MilkBank sells the nipples and venting straw (I'm not sure what they call it, but it is the piece that vents out the air so the baby doesn't get air in their belly) to use with the storage containers. Check out the "storage system starter", which comes with nipple and storage containers and pump - http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3369022 - and you can see all the pieces available. As for thawing, I usually take the milk out of the freezer and put it in a bowl of warm water...I typically replace the water once or twice and swirl around the thawing milk. You can also thaw it in the fridge, if you knew in advance when you'd need the milk. Let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck! I don't pump into the bags, but rather the little Medela bottles that come with the pump. So for me, I pump into those bottles and then transfer to the Milkbank storage containers (or previously, the plastic milk storage bags - only a specific kind can be attached directly to the pump). Either way, you have at least one transfer - into the storage container, or out of the plastic bags and into the bottle. Let me know if you have any other questions.
